The Frasers Foundation was launched by Frasers Law Company with the objective of establishing an umbrella foundation that would support worthwhile charitable and other causes in Vietnam.
With financial contributions from Frasers Law Company the first objective has been to contribute to the establishment of a scholarship programme for Vietnamese law students, recognising academic excellence and students in need of financial assistance.
The Frasers Foundation annually presents its awards to three outstanding students of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Law. Namely, the John Dick Summa Cum Laude Award for Achievement of the Best Overall Academic Results, the Frasers’ Foundation Magna Cum Laude Award for Runner-up of Overall Academic Results, and the Frasers Foundation Magna Cum Laude Award for Best Result for a Graduation Thesis. The John Dick Summa Cum Laude Award is a tribute to John Dick, who established the Freehills practice in Vietnam, and has been advising clients on doing business in Vietnam since 1989 and continues to do so from Freehills’ Singapore office.
Other projects in which the Frasers Foundation has been actively involved are outlined in our Charity section of the website.
